SKIN
The luxurious silky texture of this Vitamin C is a winning factor on its own but the wonderful results achieved by this serum earned this product a prime spot on my bathroom vanity. Melting beautifully into the skin, this creamy Vitamin C leaves skin radiant whilst improving texture and working on overall brightness. I was happy to learn that this formulation pairs nicely under makeup as well.
This summer has been an interesting stretch for my skin as it has been frequently experiencing allergy-related blemishes and pesky breakouts in the same areas (often around the base of my nose and upper lip - high trigger points for certain food-related allergies). This miracle product not only settles a new blemish but keeps them at bay (Tea Tree Oil, Salicylic Acid). While the scent of this product is quite jarring, it's incredible in respects to strength and efficacy.
MAKEUP
An unexpected star in my July roundup, this cream blush has a truly lovely texture which is slightly cushion-like and blends like a dream on the skin. I've used this multipurpose beauty wonder with both my fingertips and proper brushes and both work well with application.
I was reminded of this old favorite at the start of summer and it has since not left my makeup bag. The ultra-fine, lightweight texture of his powder makes it a warm-weather beauty hero. When all my powders were melting, texturizing or breaking up in this unforgiving heat, this powder came to the rescue and reclaimed it's rank as best translucent powder in my book.
A product which lives up to its name, this surprisingly fluid and light concealer provides an adequate veil of beautiful coverage without the need of excessive product. As well as standing up to the heat, this impressive concealer does not crease or oxidize throughout long hours of wear. I regret not giving this amazing pick a fair go on my initial try - it is truly an outstanding concealer.
HAIR
When the heat picked up in July, my long, heavy hair was in serious need of smoothing assistance. This oil went right to work on my puffy, frizzy hair and provided a calmness to the frizz with a subtle sheen without any greasy or sticky residue.
My hair absorbs every ounce of humidity in the air which activates a frustrating frizzing response (sense a hair theme here?). To combat this unwanted reaction, I turned to a multifaced smoothing product from a long-used and loved hair brand, IGK Hair. Functioning as an anti-frizz product, this spray also features heat-protectant and high-shine properties offering a salon-like finish to heat hairstyling. A perfect companion to my summer blowouts.
BODY
A natural, aluminum-free alternative to my usual choice, this wonderfully scented deodorant hasn't left my tote bag all July. With a classic cream bar applicator, I was a bit skeptical about this deodorant. To my happiness, their effective formula offered long-lasting odor-protection for a full day out and about.
One of my favorite steps in my post-shower routine, this product offers a cooling oomph to my skin while calming any redness or irritation after shaving. A gel consistency, this fast absorbing product can be applied alone or after body lotion and leaves a beautiful finish on the skin. I'm sure to apply an extra layer on my legs before stepping out the door. As a long time user of this toning gel, I've seen a more refined texture and appearance of my skin which speaks well to the efficacy of this product.
FRAGRANCE
My fourth scent from the Aerin fragrance range, this warm floral blend is one I've reached for lots this summer. While this is not a sparkling, sweet floral profile more recognized in the warmer months, this amber and cedarwood infused floral scent has offered a luxurious finish to my daily looks whilst making me look forward to cooler days. Another exceptionally formulated fragrance from Aerin that sits beautifully on the skin.

8 Essential Beach Day Skin Wonders

As we settle into the sweltering days of high summer, nothing sounds more refreshing than escaping to the cool waters of tranquil beaches. The most anticipated outings of summer, beach days are just the relaxing luxury we hope to frequently enjoy. Though, nothing spoils a delightful afternoon on the sand quicker than a sunburn or over-warmed, irritated skin. To avoid such an incident, I've compiled a roundup of highly effective skincare products and more that are sure to soothe, protect and revive skin whilst on the beach and beyond. Read on to learn more about these top reliable favorites you'll want to tote along on your next trip to the beach.
THE FACE
While I never step outdoors without an adequate layer of sunscreen, I'm sure to dial it up for a fun sunny outing like the beach. This sun care application requires a multilayered method which includes: an initial layer of cast-free sunscreen, SPF-fortified color cosmetics and an easy sunscreen for reapplication. Before applying a great SPF-infused complexion product, I layer on my favorite facial sunscreen find of the summer, (1) Bliss Block Star Invisible Sunscreen SPF 30, a beautiful lightweight mineral formulation which effortlessly blends onto the skin without any of the unsightly chalkiness often seen with traditional sunscreens. For a wash of flattering color along my cheeks and lips, (2) Physicians Formula Natural Defense Triple Defense Multicolor Stick in SPF 20 in Natural Rose is a pretty option as it effortlessly blends on the skin and can be intensified in tone without an unsightly patchy or grainy finish.
An often forgot about area of the face, the lips are highly vulnerable to the moisture-stripping effects of the sun. Therefore, seeking an ultra-nourishing product with added sun protection is essential. A perfectly fitting choice and one I reach for regularly is 3) Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25, a decades-old beauty bag staple and a personal favorite lip product formulated with a decent grade of SPF. Not only does this soft, pleasantly scented lip balm sink right in and gets to work on conditioning parched lips, it also provides defense against harmful sun rays.
THE FACE // REVIVE & RELIEVE
In the midst of all the fun, the skin will need an eventual break from the sun. Coupled with a timely reapplication of sunscreen, the soothing (green grape, rose, rosemary oils) and refreshing (orange blossom water, lemon balm) spritz of (4) Caudalie Beauty Elixir Spray will become a welcomed bit of relief. A fine and delicately scented mist, this facial spray revives sun-drenched skin and adds an extra bit of hydration while boosting skin's radiance. For an instant cool down, maximize on the fresh ocean breeze and switch on a nifty portable hand fan. This pleasant stream of cool air will help cut the heat on the face and neck (my most over-warmed areas) and feel like an incredibly satisfying pause from the beaming sunshine.
THE BODY
Much like the face, choosing the right sunscreen for the body makes all the difference. Not all sunscreens are created equal and it is important to find blends that are both compatible to your skin type and also properly veil the skin in sufficient suncare. My tried and true sunscreen duo involves two uniquely impressive formulas that not only provides a potent barrier against the sun but aids the skin in a wealth of ways. For the initial and more targeted application, my go-to is (1) Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion SPF 50+ Sunscreen, a smooth, lightweight, fluid formula which is easily blended onto the skin with an invisible finish. Interestingly, this unique sunscreen features exclusive technology which activates a stronger degree of sun protection when exposed to external heat and water. For the trickier and tougher to reach areas, my favorite is (2) La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Sunscreen Lotion Spray SPF 60 is a non-greasy, alcohol-free lotion with a spray mechanism which evenly applies on the skin. Suitable for all skin types, this lasting sunscreen dries down to a silky finish which remains water-resistant for well over an hour. This effective pair goes on to soothe and moisturize the skin whilst protecting against damaging sun rays.
THE BODY // REVIVE & RELIEVE
As careful as I am, there will always be a moment when my skin reaches it's heat limit. The quickest way to alleviate the uncomfortable feeling of over-warmed skin is spritzing on a replenishing product designed to remedy irritated sensitive skin, one such skin savior is (3) Cadulie Grape Water Moisturizing Mist, an ultra-hydrating, antioxidant-rich blend which soothes dry skin and reduces redness, all while cooling down the sprayed sections. If that isn't enough, the best way to amend distressed areas of the skin is layering on a thin layer of ultra-calming (4) Aloe Vera Gel. Keeping both reviving products over ice in a portable cooler intensifies the refreshing and comforting factors of each and quickly gets you back to the fun on the sand.
